                                               A QR code, or Quick Response code, is a type of two-dimensional Barcode that can be scanned by a smartphone with a QR code reader app. QR code technology can provide an easy and convenient way for users to access library and management information services. By using QR codes, libraries can improve the user experience, save time and effort for users, and gather feedback to improve their services. QR code technology can provide easy access to library and management information services in several ways. QR codes can be placed on library shelves, books, and other materials to allow users to quickly access information about the resource, such as its location, availability, and details about the content. This can help users save time and effort when looking for materials. Many libraries offer mobile apps that allow users to access library services and resources from their smartphone. QR codes offer several benefits in library settings, they also have limitations that must be considered.


QR code can be a valuable tool for libraries to provide easy access to information and resources for their patrons. Here are some ways  that QR code can be used in a library setting, QR codes can be placed on physical books, or other materials to link to related online resources, such as e-books, audiobooks, or additional information about the topic .Libraries can create a QR code that links to their website or social media pages, which can display the information such as hours of operation, contact information ad upcoming events. QR codes can be access online databases and other digital resources, allowing patrons to access information easily from their mobile devices. Libraries can create a self-guided tour using QR codes, where patrons must scan codes throughout the library to learn more about the collection or complete a task. QR codes can collect feedback from patrons about library services or programs, allowing for quick and easy data collection analysis. Thus, QR codes provide an easy and convenient way for libraries to enhance their services and provide access to resources for their patrons.


QR Code Technology is an open-source technology, available free of charge. Simple implementation process and user-friendly technology. users do not need special knowledge to use QR codes. They only required smartphones like iPhone or android phones with QR code scanner codes are also being used in providing document delivery services by academic libraries. It is also helpful in increasing information literacy among library users. It enables users to connect with library resources like Web-OPAC, Institutional Digital Repository, Library website, e-resources, Library Guide and other useful library resources without wasting users' time. Large storge data capacity in a small place. When awareness increases towards this technology, it will become an exciting technology among the library user community and help to achieve library goals While QR codes offer several benefits in library settings, they also have some limitations that must be considered. There are some of main limitations of QR codes in libraries. QR code require a smartphone or tablet with a camera and a QR code reader app. Not all library patrons may have access to this technology, which can limit the adoption and use of QR codes. Some library patrons may not be familiar with QR codes and may not how to scan them or what they are used for. This can limit the effectiveness of QR code as a tool for engaging users and promoting library services. QR codes have limited space, providing comprehensive information about library resources or services challenging. QR codes typically link to online resources or services requiring an internet connection. Library patrons who do not have access to the internet may not be able to get benefit from QR Codes. QR codes must be properly maintained and update regularly to ensure they continue providing accurate and up- to- date information.


The use of QR code is increase day by day. New technology like the QR codes demands the library's information handling changes in this present era. The user would easily access the most current and necessary information related to the library by using a QR code. Hence libraries are needed to be flexible in changing and adapting new technologies in their activities and services to create value-added benefits. QR code technology is easy to implement, free to use and growing in popularity.so to make effective use of QR codes among the user community, library professionals must organize awareness programs, orientation events, etc. By leveraging QR code technology, libraries can enhance the user experience, promote services, improve accessibility, gather feedback and enhance engagement.
